Online shop is everywhere now. There are plenty of Online Shop in the net, they sell small item to extremely big item such like house or building. Online retailer sites such as lelong.com, mudah.com, Alibaba.com, Kakaku.com and taobao.com had conquered online retail market.

Everything can be done by make payment through interbank transfer, paypal or credit card payment. Some of the site even offers instalment plan for big purchase, that’s really helps to boost their business, especially when economy downside.

SapientNitro did a survey and result tells lot of information regards customer preference, branding experiences, nature of purchase and product experience. Let’s ask you few questions before we proceed to the result evaluation.

I prefer to do purchase at shop, where I can personally feels the product before making the payment. I still will do price comparison by phone call shop to shop before proceed to the shortlisted shop. Payment by cash will be great, payment with credit card together with the rewards point is definitely a cool idea.

Let’s go back to SapientNitro studies result. Based on their survey result, mostly small purchase happens at online shop. Customer still prefer to make big purchase at the shop. Survey also tells us that customer likes todo price comparison, product review from 3rd parties before make purchase. And mostly all the purchases done based on brand experience or past product experience, which means branding is utmost important factor in customers’ decision. Social media plays very small roles in affecting customer decision.

    I did online shopping a lot. My initial shopping was direct from alibaba, aliexpress, dhgate and now to qoo10 and 11street. Oh not to forget lazada and zalora too. Too many to list. Yes! I did comparison before any purchase.

      Yeah, there lot of them now, can’t list them one by one. Price comparison is a must before final our purchase. Some of the website over charge for certain product.

    I used to be really active purchasing stuffs online, but have since cut down on my purchases. Now I prefer to shop at stores, cause online purchasing makes me spend money like mad haha.

    Branding is really important nowadays! Sometimes the price didn’t really stands out much as the Brand and the Quality is still the top reason people will love to shop to that certain brand.

      Online purchase is better, due to they always included shipping. Just some big purchase, I still doubt on seller trustworthy.

    I used to go online shopping a lot, but not the local, was the China website because it was cheap after conversion. However, after currency rate dropped so rapidly, I seldom shop online already. It seems better to buy in physical shop.

    It’s kinda depends on what we were buying usually. For me, I bought phone from internet, because I know they secure the package quite well. But for item like require me to check on the actual quality (camera, lens, etc), i would prefer to visit an actual shop =X kinda depends on what type of items after all

    Personally, I feel branding helps to associate the product with the brand , like cars :Ferrari, Honda .. Tissue : Kleenex and so on.. So i do agree..

      I have to disagree 100%. Nobody is going to buy that 50p coin for a32.99 bauecse of the branding or the logo. They’re going to buy it bauecse they’re fanatical about football, or bauecse they’re fanatical about coins. You could put the same coin in a clear plastic bag and as long as they could find it those same people would buy it for the same a32.99 price tag.And that’s why businesses waste thousands on a logo, tagline or other aspects of their brand identity. They believe a strong logo will convince people to buy from them.Put it like this. People buy BMWs. BMW has an instantly recognisable logo. If I create a virtually identical logo for my widget-making business, will I instantly sell lots of widgets? Nope. It’s not the logo it’s the product quality, the kudos of ownership, the customer journey that goes on behind the logo.
