Movie reviews by Alan Lim: Peninsula
Do you remember the movie “Train to Busan”? It is 4 years ago, and this year there is a part 2, Peninsula 반도 (In Chinese: 半岛), where story take place 4 years after the Outbreak. Korea had been abadoned fully, surviving refugee had fleed to the countries nearby, such like Japan or Hong Kong. In Peninsula, the main actor, Jung-seok fleed to Hong Kong and settled down as “refugee”. Jung-seok return to Korea to get back a truck with usd20million, where all the story start when they unboard from the ship and sail into Korea in a small boat.
Is insane to go back to Incheon City…

Is like mission impossible to travel in by one 4 in group (even heavily armed) to enter Incheon City with full of undead/zombie. They easily find the truck without any issue, but they been ambushed by a rogue militia Unit 631. 2 died in the ambushed location, 1 being captured (as he hide in the truck and captured after being found), Jung Seok is rescued by 2 young sisters. From this moment start, Undead/zombie isn’t that terrible compare to human.

Unlike the Part 1 Train to Busan, Peninsula is more like surviving battle between human and human, Zombie/undead just another threat along the story. Train to Busan is about surviving from Zombie/undead, and in Peninsula, “Human” is more dangerous compare to Zombie. Zombie kill for food, or kill for the sake of killing, but human kill for fun, and torture the unarmed new comer or survival by watching them being killed by Zombie.

I read a lot of negative comment on this movie, Peninsula, yet I think it is a good movie if you do not compare it with Train to Busan (as both movie do not have any interrelation. Peninsula is more like “The Walking Dead” or “Fear the Walking Dead”, is all about survival. I recommend you to watch it, is a good movie.
